Climate of New York City
|
The best time for seeing New York is spring with the average temperature around 60°F. Though, the early April evenings may still be cool (40°F), the sunny days and trees in blossom make this time of year perfect for on foot tours of the city. As for summer, the average temperature in July and August hovers at around 70°- 80°F, however, the maximum temperature can reach 100°F. On such hot days thunderstorms may appear. The coldest time of the year, of course, is winter with occasional sleet, snow showers or even a snowstorm. January is the time when the temperature dips down to 25°- 30°F. The rainiest months are March and April.
